Golden Caribou Mining Association will offer a choice of 2 different tour and training programs scheduled throughout the season from June through September. If you are interested you must call in advance to make reservations. A list and description of our programs follows;

Claims Tours;

Will be scheduled throughout the season "free of charge" the 3rd weekend of the month June through September. We will discuss the claims you are interested in and take groups out to various mining claims that are available to members. These tours can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on which group of claims we visit. So bring a lunch and a full fuel tank for the drive. While on each claim we will explain where the boundaries are, a little about the history of the claim and the best places to camp. This is an excellent opportunity to get some one on one training in this area of prospecting. You will learn about a particular creek or river, what kind of gold you will most likely encounter, where to look and other valuable information. As always "all the gold you find is yours to keep".

Prospecting Training; (Panning and Sluicing)

This tour is for anyone who wishes to learn prospecting techniques or how to pan and setup a sluice. We will bring the equipment, hike out an area and teach you how to pan the mosses and gravel's. How to set up your sluice box for better volume sampling. We will do some crevassing and bench and bar sampling. This tour requires some hiking and you will get wet.
